Over the last week I was able to taste one of the best beers I've had in a long time. This beer was suggested to me by the Nashua Beer Store clerk Pouchon. This beer is an American Double and an Imperial IPA. IPA's are my favorite style of beer, to me IPA's have a ton of flavor and everyone has amazing qualities to it that set them apart from other styles of beer. The reason I was so fond of Resin produced by Sixpoint Brewery in Brooklyn New York was that it literally sent my taste buds into overload with all the different flavors which emerged from every drink. Some facts about Resin it is 9.10 ABV which is rather strong for beer. It is produced in a can so light will not effect the beers color or flavor. You can find this beer only at the Nashua Beer Store. It is a great place to get any type of beer or find a new favorite.
My husband was a HUGE beer drinker until he had gastric sleeve surgery and can no longer have any kind of carbonated drinks. he went on and on about all types of beer that he likes and crazy brands that he likes to try. He says he really misses having a good beer at the end of a long day. lol
ReplyDeleteUntil recently, I didn't drink much beer, but now I have a favorite - Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. The micro brewery kind of outgrew its first home, and now it is available in a lot of places.
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in Northern Virginia, there were a lot of small micro breweries. One of our favorites was Old Dominion.
I am enjoying reading your posts.
How could I not reply to a post about beer? Nice choice! I am a fan of IPAs also, my love for them started many years ago with Sierra Nevada and has continued on multiple different kinds of microbrews. My last two projects I worked on spanning three years were in Washington State and there are plenty of micro brews on the west coast, especially in Washington and Oregon. They are very flavorful, but as you stated the alcohol content can get kind of high and too many of them, quenching a parched pallet on a warm summer day can lead to a laundry list of problems into the night…
ReplyDeleteI had to comment because IPA's are also my favorite type of beer! I will definitely have to try this one, as I have never heard of it. I tried a new IPA this weekend. I can't remember the name but it had a goose in the logo if that helps. I also enjoy the Dogfish and Harpoon IPA's.
ReplyDeleteI have recently heard good things about the Nashua Beer Store and cannot wait to make a visit there in the near future. I have heard that they carry a Mead (Honey wine) that is aged in old oak whiskey barrels, which I am told, gives it a phenomenal flavor . When I go I will keep an eye out for Resin!
